  • Tue - Welcome back! This site will serve as our course guide. (30 minute class today)

    • General Concept: Design + Build. [RPPR] - research, plan, procedure, reflect.

      • Computer User ID and Password. Student [No Password]
      • Please DO NOT EAT OR DRINK at the computers
      • Bring a USB to backup and use CNC
      • Please pick a spot to work and keep that seat for the semester - These machines are "off grid" so to speak - They save locally (D:\)

  • Thu - Exercises - Isometric drawings
  • Fri - Making Plans - Finishing drafting packages

Sep 12-16 Portfolios and Inventor

  • Mon - Rim Design and Inventor
    • Inventor Tutorial
    • Inventor tutorial - Let's have a look at Inventor: Interface, sketch panel, tools, dimensioning, model mode, etc.
    • Our first project will get us used to the software and will involve an automobile Rim Design
    • Before you start work on your computer - Please add This Agenda page to your Permanent Toolbar - Bookmark this page please
    • Don't forget to make a Folder for yourself - LASTNAME - on the E:\ of your computer - BE MINDFUL OF WHERE YOU SAVE!
    • Getting started with Inventor - Rim design
    • Assembly drawings and constraining
  • Tue - Portfolios - Please Create your portfolio - Send me the link when you're done!! Share with me ( make me co-owner please)

    • When the rim is complete, save a jpg to your portfolio (TODAY'S Tutorial)
    • If finished Rim, complete the drawings in your drawing package.
  • Wed - Rims, Portfolios and drafting packages
    • Your Drafting packages will be due next Monday - please finish and hand in then
    • Rim design - continue to work on - finished jpg loaded onto your portfolio

Sep 19-23 Safety

  • Mon - Let's Begin Safety today -
    • Drawing Packages are due in the blue bin, front of classroom.
    • For all of our safety lessons: Please add a page to your portfolio (UNDER HOME) called "Safety" - Here you can add notes for each machine we cover.
      • Create 10 safety tips for each topic (Google Doc) - save on your portfolio under a page "Safety"
    • Safety Video - Watch this
    • General Safety, Band saw
    • Excellent Band Saw video
    • Remainder of Period - Work on finishing your Drawing package and Safety Notes
  • Tue - Planer and the Jointer
    • 10 Notes for Band saw - on board

Sep 26-30 Safety and BBG Machine

  • Tue - Safety test - You must score at least 85% to work in the shop. If not, you may re-write but ONLY your first mark is counted. Each additional re-write lowers your mark by 10%!

      • Resolution - Size - Degree of Detail
      • Find the largest (most pixels) logo possible
      • Edit with Photoshop to customize
      • Save ALL of your possible designs in the Research section of your portfolio

    • Please record your time of glue-up on the wood (clamping)
